Join us October 7-8, 2023 in Ione for a straw bale workshop in beautiful Amador County. In this two day event we will be preparing, trimming, and stacking straw bales for a custom home and adjacent ADU, designed by OrganicForms Design and built by Rich Wright Construction. The plans sailed through the building department with a unique design that uses Larson trusses and a freestanding metal roof. Come learn this approach to bale wall building about an hour’s drive South East of Sacramento. The goal of the workshop is to accommodate every participant’s interest and skill level. Instruction by Kita Glass, a natural builder in Santa Cruz, and Darles Eaton, a natural builder in the East Bay. Evenings and meal times will allow for additional question/answer time and presentations. Plenty of room for camping or RVs, as well as hotels/motels in the area. Opportunities to visit the organic farm or cool off in the creek on property. Friday dinner through Sunday Lunch provided. 

Cost:   $150. *Limited scholarships available upon request.
