Cob Garden Wall Workshop
Saturday, September 13, 2025
9am-5pm
Sunset District, San Francisco
Free!
Mark your calendars for an exciting Natural Building opportunity: Learn how to use clay, straw, and sand to create a beautiful garden fence—6’ tall spanning 41’ feet, complete with an arch above a gate and imbedded glass bottle art, to be finished with weather-resistant clay plaster and a living roof. For this event, we’ll be using a High-fiber Cob to allow for a quick and sturdy build-out. We’ll also demonstrate techniques for mixing that are low-tech, efficient, and accessible to your average Jill or Joe—no prior building experience needed.
This type of earthen construction strikes a great balance between mass and insulation, all while having an embodied energy that blows conventional materials out of the water. This workshop will be lead by avid natural builder from the East Bay, Darles Eaton. Come get muddy, meet friends, and learn to build with natural materials.
September 13th in the SF Sunset District. Free! Breakfast (8am), lunch, and refreshments provided. Please register with the owner-builder, Shari: shasamsf@yahoo.com
Thanks, and hope to see you there!
